Meet The Bouse Brothers

There comes a point in just about every conversation with identical twins Lucas and Roy Bouse where people realize that these lifelong entrepreneurs may look quite similar, but they are far from identical.

The Bouse brothers of Port Bolivar, TX, do share a fitness regimen that often finds them working out in the same gym at the same time. They’re both big fans of music, sports, and premium whiskey. In their teens, they both raced four-wheelers in front of small but admiring crowds, discovering a competitive drive that has kept them moving steadily forward throughout their lives.

They found their first jobs before their 12th birthdays, starting in a cousin’s marine service center then graduating to work as electrical contractors. Their first enterprise, RL Bouse Electrical Contractors, was born before they reached legal drinking age and paved the way for a series of adventurous endeavors that led to the design, production and testing of a number of custom creations and, ultimately, to the launch of PromoSleeve.

Along the way, these fiercely independent siblings discovered their most common shared traits: an unquenchable thirst for success and an absolute need to control their own destiny.

“We’ve learned that we are the only guys we can depend on,” observes Roy, the elder by a 2 minute interval. “That means as long as we have the discipline to get the work done, we can create our own schedule and make our own path.”

Lucas echoes his brother’s sentiments about the freedom that being an entrepreneur can bring.

“You make the tough calls, you take the risks, and the success is yours to own. But, so is the fallout.”

So far, the fallout for the Bouse brothers has been manageable, in fact, barely noticeable. Their original plans for a power strip that could be hidden under carpet did not bear fruit and recent plans for a cup holder which can be affixed to a river rafting tube were put on hold after their concept for PromoSleeve came to life.

Roy sets the stage for that “aha” moment. “We were in a bar and we noticed that everyone had a napkin wrapped around their drink. I was never a fan of those bulky, beverage holder things so Lucas and I went home and drew out our concept on a napkin."

Months later, the design and production formula for PromoSleeve was in place and ready for introduction.

“There’s no greater success ‘high’ than launching a new company,” observes Lucas, “but that comes with its own special brand of stress! We’re moving quickly but cautiously to make sure every step leads to a great product, a fantastic experience for the end user and a satisfying return for the purchaser.”

So, just how are these business partners not so alike?

“Lucas is always in the moment, in the ‘right now’ of getting things done. That day to day stuff doesn’t appeal to me quite as much."

Lucas’ response? “Roy brings the passion. It brings a perfect left brain, right brain balance to what we do as business partners. “

For the Bouse brothers, the future is sure to hold more standing than falling, more running than walking, and more triumph than setback. “When one of us loses momentum, the other picks it up”, concludes Roy. “That’s the way it goes and we don’t know any other way to operate. Or care to.”
